About the Designer
My most important job is being a stay-at-home full time mom to 3 amazing daughters. I’m also a designer, a blogger, a member of the Walt Disney World Moms Panel, and co-owner of Garden Party Teas. In my ‘spare’ time I enjoy coaching youth soccer, volunteering at my children’s schools, reading, and gardening.
I have been sewing since I was a child, everything from doll clothes to formal wear. My mom first taught me on a vintage treadle machine so I could ‘work’ right alongside her. As my skills grew, so did our project list. With her help I designed and made all of my prom dresses, and I moved on from there. For years all I made was new curtains for whatever house I was living in at the time, but once my daughters were born I found inspiration anew. These days I’m almost always found making something for them.
How did I come up with the name BellaBuggy? I have my sweet Annabelle to thank for that. When she was 2 she used to call herself Annieabella (much like Cinderella, not coincidentally). This was also about the time baby Caitlin arrived, and from day one Annie dubbed her Catiebug. When my customs business took off I decided I needed an official name, and thus BellaBuggy was born.
Cute story, so imagine my guilt when darling daughter #3 arrived on the scene and was not a part of the concept. My quick-thinking husband once suggested we name her ‘Boutique’, but as you may have guessed he was vetoed. Lillian is much prettier don’t you think?
So there I am in a nutshell, the lady behind the designs. My own children inspire all of my creations, directly or indirectly, so I owe it all to them-including the name.
